As an accomplished Lead Animator, your expertise goes beyond crafting exceptional animations. It extends to optimizing and refining animation production pipelines, ensuring both efficiency and quality delivery. We are unconventional creators of action games for PC and consoles - extremely fun to work with and definitely not for the faint-hearted. For over a decade, we pioneered the local game dev scene, driven by the ambition to become the regional game dev leader.

On that quest, we pave our way with exciting games developed in Unreal Engine. Scars Above, our latest title, is a challenging and immersive 3rd-person Sci-Fi shooter set in a mysterious alien world to explore. We are also developing two new, unannounced games based on famous and beloved IPs, which franchises' fans will eagerly anticipate! While we can't reveal too much just yet, we can promise these titles will push the boundaries of regional game development and generate some serious hype.

What will you be doing as a Mad Head?
  • Lead and manage animation asset delivery pipelines
  • Lead and mentor a team of animators, guiding them through the animation pipeline from concept to completion
  • Collaborate closely with art directors, game directors, designers, and engineers to ensure that character animations meet the highest standards of quality and align with the creative vision of the project
  • Work alongside the production team and art managers to organise the work and keep track of all risks and mitigations wherever appropriate
  • Create and implement captivating animations for characters, creatures, and environments, breathing life into our games with fluidity, realism, and personality
  • Provide feedback and direction to the animation team, helping them grow and develop their skills while maintaining a cohesive artistic style
  • Work closely with the rigging team to ensure that character rigs are optimized for animation and meet technical requirements
  • Utilize Unreal Engine 5 (UE5) for animation implementation and integration
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in animation, continually seeking ways to enhance the visual storytelling capabilities of our games

What do we expect from our ideal candidate?

  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of AAA production workflows and pipelines.
  • Proven leadership skills and experience, with the ability to mentor and inspire a team of animators.
  • Extensive experience in game animation, contributing to notable achievements on AAA titles.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard animation software (e.g., Maya, 3ds Max, Blender).
  • Working knowledge with Mocap animations.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with a passion for teamwork.
  • A deep understanding of character animation principles, including timing, weight, and posing.
  • Knowledge of rigging and skinning techniques.
