Lead VFX Artist

Explosions, magic, smoke, sparks… you've made them all. You know what separates good VFX from great VFX - and how to get a team there. From gameplay effects to cinematics, you take ownership of the output, raise the quality bar, and keep your team motivated while doing it.

We are unconventional creators of action games for PC and consoles - extremely fun to work with and definitely not for the faint-hearted.

For over a decade, we pioneered the local game dev scene, driven by the ambition to become the regional game dev leader.

On that quest, we pave our way with exciting games developed in Unreal Engine. Our latest released title, Scars Above, is a challenging and immersive 3rd-person sci-fi shooter set in a mysterious alien world. Currently, we’re developing Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival - a first-person action horror survival game based on the beloved franchise. Alongside that, we’re working on an unannounced AAA title set in a famous and beloved IP that fans are sure to anticipate. While we can't reveal too much just yet, we can promise these titles will push the boundaries of regional game development and generate some serious hype.

We are on the lookout for someone like you to join us in our offices in Novi Sad, Belgrade, Sarajevo or remote (EMEA). We aim to welcome the new team member at the end of 2026, early 2027.

What will you be doing as a Mad Head?

  • Leading, inspiring, mentoring and managing the VFX team to create high quality and performant visual effects in Unreal Engine.
  • Overseeing the development of visual effects that clearly communicate gameplay and immerses the player in the game world.
  • Setting and maintaining an effective pipeline, assignments and workload for the team.
  • Holistically supervising all VFX content requirements, from gameplay, to cinematics and UI.
  • Taking responsibility and ownership for the output of the VFX team.
  • Identifying opportunities to raise the bar and continuously improve the quality of our VFX.
  • Working closely with the Art Directors and collaborating with cross-discipline teams.
  • Maintaining a healthy working environment for the team and contributing to the growth of the company.


What do we expect from our ideal candidate?

  • 4+ years of experience as a VFX artist and at least 1 year of experience as a Lead on AAA game
  • Excellent creative, technical and artistic skills.
  • The ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.
  • A deep understanding of Unreal, with a focus on particles and materials.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • A thirst for knowledge and remaining up to date.
  • Experience with shipping at least one of the game
  • A team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • The ability to share knowledge and have an open mindset to learn from others.
  • Leadership ability to manage and develop the team.

It would be a plus if you have: 

  • 3D software skills (eg. 3DS Max, Maya, Blender).
  • 2D animation or video editing skills.
  • Lighting and postprocessing experience.
  • Experience with software for simulation or procedural generation (eg. Houdini, FumeFX, EmberGen)
  • Prior experience in other game art positions (2D, 3D, animation, UI etc.)
